What is the correct point of view to understand the differences in performance between the new languages in light of real use cases. Based on synthetic benchmarks everybody will agree that Ruby is just “slow”. Therefore we should automatically abandon Ruby and go to “faster” languages such as Go, or Crystal, or Elixir? Looking into a more real case we will understand that this is not an answer as simple as it sounds.
